Not really worth it, except as a precursor to Aston Hill. Traffic lights over the canal bridge can really block any rhythm, and the oncoming traffic will go when their green light shows, even if you haven’t cleared the road. The steepest gradients are found at the top of the climb, right where one needs to accelerate onto the busy Upper Icknield Way.
