In the Sleive Gullion AONB, starting at the visitor centre with a couple of 17% climbs, the narrow road is one way and good tarmac until you reach the summit car park. The route downhill has some hairpins, cattle grids and loose gravel.
Just when you think the climbing is over there are a couple of steep climbs. I resorted to zig-zagging before a long straight downhill back to the main road.
My time for the climb was 40 minutes, for the full route 1hr 1minute.
