The climb par excellence in the Bergamo area, it undoubtedly deserves a ride along the 19 hairpin bends named after a different Bergamo champion (ending at hairpin 1 with the legendary Gimondi). Very gradual ascent with hairpin bends that alternate with a very pleasant rhythm. Except for a slightly steeper initial section, it is absolutely rideable and ideal for training.
La Salita per eccellenza nella bergamasca, merita senza dubbio un giro lungo i 19 tornanti che riportano il nome di un differente campione bergamasco (terminando al tornando 1 con il mitico Gimondi). Salita molto graduale e con tornanti che si alternano con un ritmo molto piacevole. Tranne un tratto iniziale un po più ripido è assolutamente pedalabile e ideale per allenamento.
Done in October on the occasion of the Lombardia with the road partially closed, little traffic and if the day is fine you can enjoy the climb without dying of heat.
Fatta ad ottobre in occasione del Lombardia con strada parzialmente chiusa, poco traffico e se la giornata è bella ci si gode la salita senza morire dal caldo.
Pleasant, rideable, useful as a workout. To be avoided at peak weekend times. To be enjoyed in autumn!

The Selvino is a beautiful climb, not difficult and with a constant gradient, with 19 hairpin bends each named after a famous cyclist from Bergamo, with a dedicated sign.
There is no water along the route, but once you get to the top and pass the roundabout in the direction of the centre, there is a drinking fountain always open 50 metres away.
On weekends there is a lot of traffic, especially mid-morning, which can be annoying on the way up; less so on the way down because the speed of the cars is not high and you are overtaken less.
Il Selvino è una bella salita, non impegnativa e dalla pendenza costante, con 19 tornanti ciascuno intitolato ad un famoso ciclista bergamasco con tanto di cartello dedicato.
Non c'è acqua lungo il percorso, ma una volta arrivati in cima e superata la rotatoria in direzione del centro a 50m c'è una fontanella sempre aperta.
Nei week-end c'è molto traffico, soprattutto a metà mattina, che può essere fastidioso in salita; in discesa meno perchè la velocità della auto non è elevata e si viene superati meno.
It is a beautiful climb, with a fairly constant gradient and never particularly challenging, but long enough to give good satisfaction when you reach Selvino. The hairpin bends numbered in descending order enrich, and not a little, the pleasure of tackling the climb. The road surface is almost always excellent (autumn 2022). It is also beautiful to ride downhill. The traffic on weekdays is not annoying also because the road is almost everywhere quite wide: there is room for everyone! A must-do!
Bellissima salita, con una pendenza abbastanza costante e mai particolarmente impegnativa, ma sufficientemente lunga per regalare una buona soddisfazione quando si raggiunge Selvino. I tornanti numerati in ordine decrescente arricchiscono, e non poco, il piacere di affrontare la salita. Il fondo stradale è quasi sempre ottimo (autunno 2022). Bella anche da affrontare in discesa. Il traffico nei giorni feriali non è fastidioso anche perché la strada è quasi ovunque piuttosto ampia: c’è posto per tutti! Da fare!
The Selvino is a climb with 19 numbered hairpin bends. It is similar to the Alpe d'Huez. It is a beautiful climb that can be really murderous hot in the summer. The climb is never very steep. In Selvino, there are fountains to get water and cool off. If you continue further on, this is certainly advisable. Along the way, you are treated to beautiful views. There is some traffic, but I did not find it disruptive.
De Selvino is een klim met 19 genummerde haarspeldbochten. Het heeft daarmee wel wat weg van de Alpe d'Huez. Het is een beeldschone klim die in de zomer wel echt moordend heet kan zijn. De klim is nergens echt heel erg steil. In Selvino zijn er fonteintjes om water te halen en af te koelen. Als je daarna nog verder gaat is dat zeker aan te raden. Onderweg wordt je getrakteerd op prachtige vergezichten. Er is wat verkeer, maar ik vond het niet storend.
