Road conditions are great, all paved. The climb is challenging even for those who are well trained for it. As previously said it starts rough and there are only few places to get some rest during the climb itself. Go bit further towards Lana and you can do the Gampen or other Climbs near Bolzano. Definitely not recommended during summer, there are no water fountains until Meltina. and it's sunny almost all day.

Done it today, unfortunately with not so good weather. The climb is quite a challenge, first 4km continuous 11-12%. Then a bit flatter and then again 11-12%. When you cycle through the town of Moltina it suddenly goes up 17%, which surprises a few more times. Make sure you continue to the top (Schermoossattel parking lot, then you have conquered the whole col).
All in all, a good climb.
