This slope is best known among cycling tourists in the region as Regimental Mount. Several members of the resistance were executed in the surrounding forests during World War 2.
Deze helling is in de regio onder wielertoeristen vooral bekend onder de naam Regimentsberg. In de omringende bossen werden tijdens Wereldoorlog 2 meerdere leden van het verzet terechtgesteld. Dit feit en de kapel der weerstanders aan de voet van deze helling liggen aan de basis van deze naam.
A climb that, for this area, has quite a few altimeters and towards the end is quite fast. In addition, you ride through a beautiful forest. Unfortunately, the route runs on a (narrow) cycle lane along a sometimes busy road with freight traffic. Good tarmac though. In the beginning you pass a big WW2-monument for the killed resistance fighters in this area.
Een klim die voor dit gebied best wat hoogtemeters meepakt en tegen het eind lekker oploopt. Daarnaast rijd je door een fraai bos. Helaas loopt de route over een (smalle) fietsstrook langs een soms drukke weg met ook vrachtverkeer. Wel goed asfalt. In het begin kom je langs een groot WO2-monument voor de omgekomen verzetsstrijders in dit gebied.
A straightforward climb up the plateau. It is a relatively busy road where people also drive fast.
Een recht toe recht aan klimmetje het plateau op. Het is een relatief drukke weg waar men ook nog hard rijdt.
Vals plat on the main road, not much to it. Beautiful forest in the area. Relatively high car traffic. Good smooth asphalt.
Vals plat op de grote weg, niet veel aan. Wel mooi bos in de omgeving. Relatief veel auto verkeer. Goed glad asfalt.
