Steep climb, but for the most part fairly even. Once in a while you have a beautiful view on the Reschensee, but most of the time you ride between the trees, which is great for cooling down. The road surface is not too good, and just before the second hairpin it turns into a dirt road with sometimes large stones. It is possible to get to the top on a racing bike but it takes some effort to follow the right track, also because mountain bikers (can) descend in the opposite direction. The route here largely runs over a ski slope. Just below the top, it becomes asphalt again, but you have to cross a kind of mountain bike camp to go past the fence. The descent is recommended on the other side, where the road surface is also not fantastic, but fine to get down.
Stevige klim, maar voor het grootste deel wel vrij gelijkmatig. Af en toe heb je prachtig uitzicht op de Reschensee, maar meestal rij je tussen de bomen, wat qua verkoeling heerlijk is. Het wegdek is niet al te best, en vlak voor de tweede haarspeldbocht gaat het zelfs over in een onverharde weg met soms flinke stenen. Er is op de racefiets boven te komen maar het kost wat moeite om het goede spoor te volgen, ook omdat mountainbikers in tegengestelde richting (kunnen) afdalen. De route loopt hier grotendeels over een skipiste. Vlak onder de top wordt het weer asfalt, maar moet je een soort mountainbikeramp over om langs het hek te gaan. De afdaling is aan te raden aan de andere kant, waar het wegdek ook niet fantastisch is, maar prima om beneden te komen.
