Excellent route, you can enjoy the hardest parts of the Hornisgrinde climb, but cut the climb in half, and then go on to other climbs.

I find this a very nice climb. Very good tarmac, in terms of traffic much quieter than the main road from Sasbachwalden to Mummelsee (Hornisgrinde) and much less descent allowing you to enjoy the beautiful landscape and views more. Apart from some leaves on the road here and there (mid-October), the descent to Seebach is beautiful and safe. Combine this climb with an (easier than via Brandmatt) continuation from Seebach to Mummelsee/Hornisgrinde and you have the best of both worlds!
