Klim aan de voet van de Schneeberg tussen Duits Lemiers en de Schurzelter Strasse. Als je vanuit Orsbach de Lemiersberg afkomt is het even opletten waar je linksaan moet houden om de Schneebergweg op te rijden. Hetzelfde geldt als je vanuit Vaals via de Senserbachweg aankomt. Je ziet de splitsing dan gemakkelijk over het hoofd. De eerste 100 meter ga je even flink omhoog en daarna golft het tot de top wat op en neer. Na ca. 1½ km heb je na drie uitritten nog een kort steiler stuk.
So close to busy Vaals and Aachen and yet so peaceful. Lots of greenery and variety and lots to see. A good one to include in a three-country tour.
The tarmac was not so pleasant, but that's common with German country roads. Bizarre ending when you see that dystopian GDR hospital looming in the distance. It's an official monument too....
Zo dicht bij het drukke Vaals en Aachen en toch zo rustig. Veel groen en variatie en veel te zien. Een goeie om op te nemen in een drielandentour.
Het asfalt was niet zo prettig, maar dat is schering en inslag bij Duitse buitenwegen. Bizar einde als je dat dystopische DDR-ziekenhuis in de verte ziet opdoemen. Het is nog een officieel monument ook....
Very nice climb, you can best with a nice pace ride. You have enough energy to enjoy the view. At the top appears a kind of ugly colossus of a building, no idea what it is. Not special, but nice.
Heel leuke klim, kun je best met een aardig tempo oprijden. Je hebt voldoende energie om van het uitzicht te genieten. Bovenaan verschijnt een soort lelijke kolos van een gebouw, geen idee wat dat is. Niet speciaal, wel leuk.

After the first hump the slopes are not really steep anymore but the percentage varies a lot and you can feel that, together with the length. Now and then nice views to the right, especially at the end when Vaals comes into view. To the left an anti-tank wall and to the right dragon teeth from the Westwall. All in all a beautiful and varied route. Asphalt is bad in the beginning, afterwards it gets better in some places.
Na de eerste bult zijn de hellingen niet echt steil meer maar het percentage varieert behoorlijk en dat voel je wel, samen met de lengte. Zo nu en dan fraaie uitzichten over rechts, zeker op het eind als Vaals in beeld komt. Links nog een anti-tank muur en rechts drakentanden van de Westwall. Al met al fraaie en gevarieerde route. Asfalt is slecht in het begin, daarna wordt het beter op enkele plekken na.
