Without doubt one of the most beautiful slopes of the area. When you turn the last few hundred meters, you see a steep slope on your right and in front of you a beautiful forest. It is not a very steep slope, so you can enjoy the landscape from time to time. You have to watch out for the double traffic gates just after the top, but you don't have to be a cyclist to pass them. I prefer to drive this slope via the Ronsevaalstraat-Kanegemstraat-Scherpenbergweg by the way.

Really nice climb that winds up against the Nature Reserve. Be careful in the descent, there are also roadblocks for through traffic

True beauty when it comes to racing is only to be found in Flanders. And this climb will put a big fat grin on your face! With a Flemish cap under your helmet and a carbon bike between your legs, you'll recover from that shaky bike on the Kemmelberg. Beauty at its best! Always cycle this after the Kemmelberg and direction Rodeberg (mont Rouge) and Zwarteberg (mont noir) and direction Mont des Cats (Katsberg). A climb that starts gently false flat but when it gets steeper it shows its true beauty. Look right through the barbed wire, above the cows and you'll know why. In the distance you can see Ypres and then you know why this Menin Ridge was of such strategic importance in WWI. This climb gives me a big grin, it's short, but really beautiful. So beautiful that you can go up and down it several times! I usually take an alternative route, not via the Noordstraat-Steenhofstraat, but via the Brulozestraat and then into the Kalissestraat. The Brulozestraat is a real highway, on a nice road surface by Flemish standards, so watch out for the cracks in the corners, but if you want an extra climbing round, go back up, turn right into the Kallissestraat again, turn left into the Kanegemstraat, and turn left into the Brulozestraat again. Not really difficult but worthwhile!
