The ascent to Saucelle is situated in the Salamanca region of Las Arribes, bordering with Portugal. The ascent starts from the old hydroelectric power plant (today rural accommodation called Aldeaduero) to the vicinity of the village of Saucelle is a climb where we are going to find very hard ramps, up to 12% just in the area of the dam. From there on it is a climb with a certain hardness but affordable for any cyclist.
The ascent will make you stop at several viewpoints in the area, from where you can see the Saucelle reservoir, the dam itself and the waterfall, and unbeatable views of Aldeaduero, the Duero river and Portugal, on the other side of the river.
La ascensión a Saucelle se situa en la comarca salmantina de Las Arribes, froteriza con Portugal. Se inicia la ascensión desde el antiguo pablado de la central hidroelectríca (hoy alojamientos rurales llamados Aldeaduero) hasta las proximidades del pueblo de Saucelle es una subida donde nos vamos a encontrar rampas muy duras, de hasta un 12% justo en la zona de la presa. A partir de ahí es una ascensión con cierta dureza pero asequible para cualquier cicloturista.
La subida te hará detenerte en varios de los miradores que hay en la zona, desde donde se puede observar el embalse de Saucelle, la propia presa y el salto de agua, y unas inmejorables vistas de Aldeaduero, del rio Duero y de Portugal, al otro lado del río.
