Sandpits Lane via Foxmoor Lane

The climbing starts just after the traffic lights at the railway bridge. There are a few kicks along the way as the lane narrows, which might start the blood pumping and heart racing. Nothing too long or arduous, as the steeper section starts just around the corner from where you need to turn left onto Sandpits Lane which again kicks up, quite steep but it isn't too long before you crest and can take a breather. Descending back down the opposite side that you climb is a bit of a gravel race as the road is very bad with pot holes, loose stones, cars, walkers, dogs, branches and lots of tight bends, so be careful out there!.

From the mini roundabout in Ebley go north on Foxmoor Lane, and likely be stopped by a traffic light at the railway bridge. Continue easy out of town and it steepens to 10％ or more in the more rural lane before a flat section. Then go left on Redhouse Lane, skirting Westrip village. The steep stuff starts near the red phone box. Ignore the first left, but take the next one up narrower Sandpits Lane (surface fair). This continues steeply for a while, a tad easier by the summit, just past the last house. Here there is woodland on your left with what look to be ancient quarry workings overgrown. The onward lane descends on unmade road for a little bit before tarmac resumes. The singer Sade lives up here (allegedly).
