Superb gravel strip. Up and down and fine to ride. Downhill gravel is not comfortable and uphill you slip when you step on the pedals. Lovely. Most beautiful part of Tuscany!

Schitterende gravelstrook. Heerlijk. Mooiste stukje Toscane!

This is the approach to Monte St Marie and forms one long strip of gravel with it. Depending on the weather, the gravel is sometimes quite loose which can make it difficult. Apart from the surface, this is a blissful stretch for cycling. Constantly beautiful views (although I recommend paying attention to the road). Don't pay too much attention to the average climbing percentages in the profile, this climb is very irregular, you feel like you're on a rollercoaster, it goes from very steep to flat and downhill and vice versa.
