Deze klim nu ook in de winter gecontroleerd en ook dan is het graveldeel prima te fietsen (en het asfalt uiteraard ook). Wel kunnen er bij veel neerslag stroompjes in de lengte over de gravelweg vormen maar dat levert voornamelijk wat gespetter op (en je kan ze vermijden). Het asfaltgedeelte is aangenaam fietsen met rechts een fraai poortgebouw.

Een andere manier om vanaf de Leersumsestraatweg richting de Ruiterberg te fietsen. Dit traject volgt het knooppuntentraject (vanuit de Sandenburgerlaan steek je de weg recht over). Hier kom je dus eerst op een goede en stevige gravel-/grindweg die een mooi traject door het bos volgt en op het eind iets steiler is dan de reguliere klim. Daarna volg je de asfaltweg naar boven wat ook een mooi stuk blijft.
