One of my favourite climbs in the region, as I like steady, long but not too steep. Perfect for keeping your breathing under control the whole time. Scenically beautiful too how you climb up out of the Huile valley. A few 'tourist' facts: the base is at the still working water mill of Vencimontv, from where there is also a nice walk to the Tête du chien. And when you have almost reached the summit in Sart-Custine, you cycle past the home of serial killer Michel Fourniret....
Eén van mijn favoriete beklimmingen in de streek, want ik hou van gestage, lange, maar niet te steile beklimmingen. Perfect om je ademhaling de hele tijd onder controle te houden. Landschappelijk ook mooi hoe je uit het dal van de Huile opklimt. Een paar 'toeristische' weetjes: de voet ligt aan de nog werkende watermolen van Vencimontv, van waaruit ook een mooie wandeling naar de Tête du chien loopt. En wanneer je bijna de top in Sart-Custine hebt bereikt, fiets je langs de woning van seriemoordenaar Michel Fourniret...
Nice climb, not very steep but steady all the way. The road is in good condition, with little traffic.
Belle montée, pas très raide mais régulière sur tout le long. La route est en bon état, et le trafic peu important.
