Same as Fedor's experience. Use this climb to get to two climbing routes to Barraque Michel, which are a tempting, much nicer alternative to the climb over the busy N68. You can't avoid the N road in the end, but you have a quiet forest road for it.
Idem als Fedor's ervaring. Gebruik deze klim om bij twee klimroutes naar Barraque Michel te geraken, die een aanlokkelijk, veel mooier alternatief zijn voor de klim over de drukke N68. Je kunt de N weg uiteindelijk niet vermijden, maar je hebt ervoor een rustige bosweg.
You start this climb on the main road to Malmedy, direction Baraque Michel. This is a nice runner on a wide road that curves upwards from Eupen. After leaving Eupen, take the first asphalt road to the right into the forest. Here is a barrier, if it is closed you can easily pass. The character of the climb changes completely because from the busy road you enter a (nearly) deserted and quiet forest. The first part of the climb is nice and steep, then it becomes more undulating and relaxed. If you follow the road you can turn left at a junction. This tarmac road brings you back to the main road towards Malmedy. That way, in the direction of Baraque Michel, you have been able to replace a busy main road by nice quiet forest roads.
Je begint deze klim over de grote weg naar Malmedy, richting de Baraque Michel. Dit is ene lekkere loper over een brede weg die met enkele bochten vanuit Eupen naar boven slingert. Na het verlaten van Eupen pak je het eerste asfaltweggetje naar rechts het bos in. Hier is een slagboom, als deze dicht is kan je er goed langs. Het karakter van de klim verandert compleet want vanaf de drukke weg rijd je hier een (vrijwel) uitgestorven en stil bos in. Het eerste stuk hier van loopt lekker omhoog, daarna wordt het wat golvender en relaxter. Als je de weg volgt kan je verderop bij een kruising naar links. Dit asfaltweggetje brengt je weer naar de hoofdweg richting Malmedy. Zo heb je richting Baraque Michel een stuk drukke hoofdweg kunnen vervangen door leuke rustige bosweggetjes.
