Beautiful, quiet climb to get from the Col du Bramont to the Route des Cretes. It is quite hard work for 4 km, but nowhere very steep. I also descended it once, but I didn't like that. The road surface is rough and bumpy, which does not bother me when climbing, but at high speed it shakes me up. ... read more

Lovely challenging climb as long as you dont miss the exit on the fast downhill off Bramont. Its fairly steep so care for traffic. Surface - May 2026- was fine. No view other than the trees as you climb but you are rewarded at the top.

Spicy climb that does run pretty evenly (except in the turns, that is). As long as no cars're coming, it goes well. If you have to go up the side, you do face less good road surface.... Here, you also have to have a bit of windfall with the weather....

Spicy climb, in the shade. But unfortunately bad road surface. This side is not recommended for descending, for climbing it goes. You have no views during the climb, but at the top it's really enjoyable. You can follow the main track towards Le Markestein (where it is flat) or to the left where it still rises towards Kastelberg

It's a tough climb. Steep gradients, not many moments of respite. But it's a good sequence to do Bramont - Route des Américains - route des crêtes.

Blissfully gentle climb through a rugged green forest on a fine road. You sometimes miss views on climbs like this, but the forest is beautiful enough. Still, halfway up you get to see a kind of swamp and at the end you have a nice view of the Rothenbachkopf.

Nice climb! If you come from the Col de Bramont, you take a lot of speed with you from the descent and you are in good shape until the first bend. After that, you have to work hard. Despite the steepness, you can keep a good pace here. It was very quiet when I did it and the views through the trees are beautiful. Highly recommended.

Lekkere klim!

Right after the col de Bramont, you get this surprise. It is a nice narrow road, which is nevertheless considerably higher. Certainly worthwhile to cycle once.

For lovers of climbing through the woods, you should not miss this one. Road winds up nicely on a mainly quiet road. Most cars usually take the wider roads up.

The road surface is increasingly worse in recent years to be (September 2020 for the last time been). If you want to descend along this route, make sure you keep your attention there! The descent is technical but because of the bumpy road surface increasingly risky. A number of bends are difficult to see and because of the narrow road, an oncoming car is treacherous at those points.
