Nice climb that is actually a bit longer because the approach from Mulartshütte already goes up with false flat. The first part of the climb is very nice and you can see the road winds up. Also in Rott the road meanders through the village but when you leave the village (you cycle on a bicycle path) you get a boring straight piece in front of you. The top is difficult to determine because the road is almost flat. By the way, riding to Roetgen is not a punishment at all, it is a very beautiful piece with a river below you, streams crossing the road, a big dam on the left side and some relics from the Second World War.
Leuke klim die eigenlijk iets langer is omdat de aanloop vanuit Mulartshütte al met vals plat omhoog gaat. Het eerste deel van de "echte" klim is erg fraai en je ziet de weg mooi omhoog slingeren. Ook in Rott zelf slingert de weg door maar als je de bebouwde kom verlaat (je fietst dan op een fietspad) krijg je een wat saai recht stuk voor je. De top is wat moeilijk te bepalen omdat de weg uiteindelijk vrijwel vlak loopt. Overigens is doorrijden naar Roetgen absoluut geen straf, het is een erg mooi stuk met een riviertje onder je, beekjes die de weg kruisen, een flinke stuwdam aan de linkerkant en wat relicten uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog
