At the time of writing, the road is passable again, except for a 500-600m stretch just before the junction with the north-eastern slope (~km 1.6). This section is a stony track with a few bits of tarmac here and there. I was able to cross this track without any damage on my road bike today, but it was really borderline... It's a shame, really, the setting of this climb is magnificent.
À l'heure où j'écris, la route est redevenue bitumée, sauf sur un tronçon de 500-600 m juste avant la jonction avec le versant nord-est (~km 1,6). Ledit tronçon est une piste caillouteuse où subsistent çà et là quelques morceaux de bitume. J'ai pu franchir cette piste sans dommage sur mon vélo de route aujourd'hui, mais c'était vraiment limite... Dommage, vraiment, le cadre de cette côte est magnifique.
In the meantime the tarmac has been renewed, nice and quiet climb. Hardly saw a car. The descent on the other side is also new asphalt.
Ondertussen is het asfalt vernieuwd, mooie rustige klim. Bijna geen auto tegengekomen. De afdaling langs de andere kant is ook vernieuwde asfalt.
I've been here today and unfortunately the tarmac of this climb has not been renewed, still not really an option with the racing bike :(
Ik ben hier vandaag nog geweest en helaas is het asfalt van deze klim niet vernieuwd, nog steeds niet echt een optie met de koersfiets dus :(
Bad road surface is an understatement, there is no road anymore. The first 1500m are boulders. However beautiful and quiet this climb is, I can only advise against it with a racing bike. Only doable with MTB.

Slecht wegdek is een understatement, er is geen weg meer. De eerste 1500m zijn keien. Hoe mooi en rustig deze klim ook is kan ik hem enkel maar afraden met de koersfiets. Enkel doenbaar met MTB.

A nice alternative is the climb from the northeast side. Starts at 230 meters and runs until Lignely beautiful and evenly through the forest.
Een mooi alternatief is de beklimming vanaf de noordoost kant. Begint op 230 meter en loopt tot Lignely prachtig en gelijkmatig door het bos.
