I only did the first 3 kilometres because it was in the wake of the Col de la Madeleine via Feissons and on the way down I went to reconnoitre part of the ascent, knowing that I wouldn't reach the finish voluntarily to preserve my health because of the suffocating heat.
I only did the first 3 km, the road is passable on a road bike and there are quite a few shady stretches, the gradient is steep, even very steep, as the graph shows. The only downside is that it's very difficult, if not impossible, to share the road with a cyclist, as the carriageway is so narrow that when a car from behind or in front wants to pass you have to put your feet down and park on the verge.
I'll go and do the whole thing one day to see the finish.
J'ai fait seulement les 3 premiers kilomètres car c'était dans la foulée du Col de la Madeleine par Feissons et lors de la descente je suis allé reconnaitre une partie de l'ascension tout en sachant que je n'atteindrai pas le final volontairement pour préserver ma santé à cause de la chaleur suffocante.
J'ai fait uniquement les 3 premiers Km, la Rte est praticable en vélo de route et il y a pas mal de passages ombragés, la pente est forte voire très forte comme en atteste le graphique, seul bémol, la cohabitation véhicule- cycliste est très délicate voir impossible , la chaussée est tellement étroite que lorsqu'une voiture venant de l'arrière ou de l'avant veut passer vous êtes obligé de poser pieds à terre et vous garer sur le bas coté.
j'irai un jour faire la totalité pour voir le final.
