The Ratschingstal/Val di Racines is one of the side valleys you can cycle into from Sterzing/Vipiteno, a beautiful town in the bilingual Italian part of the country located in the wide Eisack valley.
Flat approach from Vipiteno over Gasteig/Casateia to Stange where the climb starts with some steep hairpin turns (+10%). The middle part of the route rises slightly on fairly straight roads, following the mountain river that gave its name to the valley. In Bichl/Colle you pass the Ratschingskabel cable car. The further up we climb, the less populated, the narrower the road and the more pure nature. The penultimate kilometer goes steeply up the left valley flank followed by a steep descent to the end of the asphalt road at a small chapel and the last lonely farms in Flading.

Nice quiet route with beautiful views on mountain peaks surrounding the valley. .
