Longer climb from the edge of Heerlen's Welten district to Ubachsberg. Climb actually goes in three "jumps" where
Langere klim vanaf de rand van de Heerlense wijk Welten naar Ubachsberg. Klim gaat eigenlijk in drie "sprongetjes" waarbij je na iedere sprong eindigt op 6-7%. Klim gaat over prima fietspad zodat je geen last hebt van autoverkeer. Vanuit Ubachsberg weer meerdere mogelijkheden om rit te vervolgen.
A long, but nowhere difficult ascent on which you can gain metres in altitude relatively easily and ride through peaceful surroundings.
Langer, aber nirgends schwieriger Anstieg auf dem man relativ einfach Höhenmeter sammeln kann, wobei man durch eine ruhige Umgebung fährt.
Nice climb. The wide cycle path is nice and you are not bothered by the other traffic. It's not a real calf-biter, but it is worth the heat.
Mooi klim. Het brede fietspad loopt lekker en je heb geen last van het overige verkeer. Een echte kuitenbijter is het niet , maar wel om je warmte te fietsen.
The new situation is a lot better because you are no longer bothered by car traffic. The cycle path (two-way but very wide) runs well and continues until the built-up area of Ubachsberg where you can just keep to the right for the last bit. A few bumps seem to be a little bit flattened but it is not much compared to the road. The surroundings are still very beautiful. So now an extra star.
De nieuwe situatie is een stuk beter want je hebt geen last meer van het autoverkeer. het fietspad (tweerichtings maar bijzonder breed) loopt lekker en loopt door tot aan de bebouwde kom van Ubachsberg waar je het laatste stukje gewoon rechts kan blijven fietsen. Enkele bulten lijken iets afgevlakt maar veel scheelt het niet t.o.v. de weg. De omgeving is nog steeds erg fraai. Nu dus een ster extra.
Recently, a new and very wide free bike path has been added to the climb. That suddenly makes it a very nice running climb, without traffic
Recent is er een nieuw en zeer breed vrij liggend fietspad toegevoegd aan de klim. Dat maakt het opeens een heel erg lekker lopende klim, zonder verkeer
A nice climb but unfortunately on a busy road with only a narrow bicycle lane. The climb starts just before the tunnel, then it goes up faster and through the bends the percentages change until you reach Ubachsberg. The surroundings are worthwhile but it would be nicer if it were more quiet.
Een fraaie klim maar helaas over een drukke weg met maar een smalle fietsstrook er naast. De klim begint al enigszins voor de tunnel, daarna gaat het harder omhoog en door de bochten heen wisselen de percentages tot je in Ubachsberg bent. De omgeving is niet te versmaden maar zou mooier zijn als het rustiger zou zijn.
