This climb is highly recommended; you do drive towards nowhere country but you can make several rounds from Murcia with this climb in them. My favourite is to return via the Cabezo de la Plata but for many the combination of climbing and heat is too much. The climb invites you to either ride quietly and enjoy the surroundings or go full throttle and burn yourself out all the way to the top! The road is clear and not very busy during the week. The irregularity is not disturbing, because the percentages are not too high, it is nice to let the bike run without having to pedal again. A power climb for stoempers and a runner for experienced riders. Really enjoyable, and less than 30 minutes by bike you end up in an oasis of peace outside the capital Murcia.
