Actually, the climbing starts right from Cangas de Narcea, but that does not add much to the difficulty because it is not that steep. The whole climb is not very steep anyway. Really a climb like you expect in central France. No kidding, a nice long climb with not too high percentages. With traffic, it's a bit busy especially at the beginning, but the traffic is well attuned to cyclists and is careful. At the top, clouds still linger, so you may find yourself riding the last part in the wet. This will be pretty cold, so don't forget your rain jacket! On the way, the view behind you is quite nice, but there are certainly nicer climbs and views to be seen. Definitely do it if you are there, but I wouldn't detour for it either. It's a nice change from the steeper work in the region.
