Good road surface, great views, longish and steady. More traffic than some other climbs in the region, but drivers generally respectful, and it was not heavy like English traffic. You can get the train from Madrid, then quite a pipe-opener up to the Monastery. Photos show monastery from close to and from near top of climb.
