Somehow I had quite a lot of traffic the first stretch out of Biescas, but once in the undulating flatter middle section, it became quiet. So presumably a whole lot of tourists leaving 'in the morning from their overnight spot and all wanting to go up at the same time. The final stretch to the tunnel climbs quite a bit, but the reward is a nice view as soon as you exit the tunnel.

Quiet asphalted route. Highest point (the col) is through a tunnel that is well lit by the way. Before that, two shorter, somewhat darker tunnels, but motorists in this part of Spain generally drive carefully and avoid cyclists. Directly on the east side of the tunnel, there is a nice little bar with a terrace and a fantastic view of the Pyrenees.

Rustige geasfalteerde route.
