The Pragel Pass is truly a picture-perfect pass that you should preferably climb on a Saturday or a Sunday. On weekend days, the climb from the lake is closed to motorised traffic. I can definitely recommend this climb 🏔️ 🏔️ 🏔️
Stunning surroundings, beautiful lake and really nice Swiss country side which make it a real pleasure. Also the "pause" at the lake is great - you get a chance to recover a little before the next major climb.

For me, the beginning was the most tough at a 9% grade, however, the more I ascended the "easier" it got. I only managed to get up to 1367m because there was a ton of snow on the road + a storm lurking, so my time of 1:40 below is a little short. I climbed up on a Sunday, which was perfect because motorized traffic was closed, however, there were some cars going up and down.
*Also, like Jeroen, I don't know why there is that sign that states 18% - I kept anticipating very steep ramps, but there were none.

The descent was sweet, a proper chef kiss 👌 I was riding a TT bike, so I managed to get up to a top speed of 63.3km/hour 🍌 It took me about 40min. to descend.

The Pragel Pass is truly a picture-perfect pass that you should preferably climb on a Saturday or a Sunday. On weekend days, the climb from the lake is closed to motorised traffic. Up to the lake, the climb is nice and snappy, but not very fascinating. From the moment you get to the lake, the views become increasingly beautiful, grandiose and weider. The scenery is almost overwhelming, which is only enhanced by the presence of cows that have no respect for the paved road :) At the top of the pass, you have a great view of the cliffs around you. The last ten kilometres vary very much in percentage, from 4% to stretches well above 10%. (I don't quite believe the sign along the way announcing 18%).
The descent towards Schwyz is steep and narrow, but doable with disc brakes. As there are cars on that side, you have to watch out for oncoming traffic on the narrow road.

You can take advantage of the fact that on weekends the pass is closed to traffic from the Klöntalersee. However, the climb up to the lake is very busy.
It is a climb with a lot of elevation changes. False flats, steep slopes, it has it all, including the flat around the lake.
The views of the lake and also further up are worthwhile. I don't know the other side of the pass because it is famous for being a dangerous descent.
