Was staying at the top. A fairly easy climb but there is some wonderful history. If you’re nearby perhaps take a detour.
Not too hard an ascent, but with few scenic sections. Good asphalt, wide road and a little traffic. Done in addition to the Col D'Allos.

Not spectacular, had done the La Coyalle before and added this one and this really wasn't difficult at all, the road is pretty good and at the top you do see some tourists walking around

The climb is easy. The road is good. The views are not thrilling. The architecture up there is desolate and hideous. The resort was ghostly. Fortunately, there's this "portico" in homage to Thévenet, which feels good. Really, you can do without this climb.

Asfalt op sommige plaatsen niet al te best, veel grind.
In de zomer niks te doen...

Aug 2021 climbed because mercx lost the tour here once. Other than that it's a gribus climb. Wasted time with all the other beauty around. Pra Loup is the ugliest ski village I've ever seen. The climb was a bit harder than expected due to strong headwind from the fohn from the allos and because garmin indicated 34.5 degree. I understood that if you are even slightly less here, that you have spicy. Pieces 10 and 8, not long. Climb is continuous by anyway in the back of the village

Pra Loup is het lelijkste skidorp wat ik ooit heb gezien. De klim was iets zwaarder dan verwacht door harde tegenwind van de fohn vanaf de allos en omdat garmin 34,5 graad aangaf. Ik begreep dat als je ook maar iets minder bent hier, dat je toch pittig hebt. Stukjes 10 en 8 , niet lang. Klim stijgt wel continue door toch achterin het dorp

When you turn right off the wide road (Barcelonnette-Col d'Allos) it is quite uphill via some hairpin turns and briefly a 10％ stretch. You get beautiful panoramas of the valley. The architects artificially developed "Pra Loup 1600" (apartments / ski catering) is less beautiful and one reaches this end via a
one-way traffic loop.
Contrary to other reviews, in my case there was summer activity here (mtb/beachvolley/tennis/hiking) so provisioning was not a problem. There are also kilometer markers along the route.
Just like nearby Super Sauze, this is the ideal (not too long or too steep) warm-up climb for more solid cycling in the Barcelonnette region.
Augustus 2017 de klim die reeds 3x Tourfinish was op gefietst.
Wanneer je de brede weg (Barcelonnette-Col d'Allos) rechts afdraait is het behoorlijk bergop via enkele haarspeldbochten en even een 10％ strook. Men krijgt mooie panorama's op het dal. Het door architecten kunstmatig ontwikkelde "Pra Loup 1600" (appartementen/skihoreca) is minder fraai en men bereikt dit eindpunt via een
éénrichtings verkeerslus .
In tegenstelling tot andere reviews was er hier in mijn geval wel zomerse bedrijvigheid (mtb/beachvolley/tennis/wandelen) zodat bevoorrading geen probleem was. Er zijn ook kilometerpaaltjes langs de route.
Net zoals nabijgelegen Super Sauze is dit de ideale (niet te lang of te steil) opwarmingsklim voor steviger fietswerk in de regio van Barcelonnette.
Climbed Pra Loup with my girlfriend in July 2019. Nice clear climb with occasional nice views of Barcelonette. Taking a photo at the monument where Thevenet beat Merckx was the highlight. Other than that, the village of Pra Loup itself is a runaway ski village, where they come downhilling like crazy on their mountain bikes.
Pra Loup beklommen met mijn vriendin in Juli 2019. Mooie overzichtelijke klim met af en toe mooi uitzicht op Barcelonette. Een foto nemen bij het monument waar Thevenet Merckx versloeg was het hoogtepunt. Verder is het dorp Pra Loup zelf een uit de grond gestampt Fans skidorp, waar ze als gekken naar beneden komen downhillen op hun mountainbike.

Aankomend in Pra Loup, blijkt dat dit Pra Loup 1500 is, even door fietsen en je bent aan de top: Pra Loup 1600.
In de zomer is er niets te beleven, in de winter zal het best leuk zijn daar.
