Recently, this road was given a new layer of asphalt. It was already not an ugly area, but this little road has gained some extra momentum because of it. The surroundings are reminiscent of Tuscany without cypresses, so in late summer. Very beautiful and very quiet. The climb itself takes you higher via fairly mild percentages. It is never flat, but any cycling tourist should still get to the top here with relatively little effort.... read more

This climb is on the camino to Santiago de Compostela. Instead of taking the busy (and very dangerous!) Puerto de la Pedraja, the route turns right in Tosantos and you take Port De Valdillas. We did this one in the morning fog and it was wonderful how desolate and deserted this road was. For climbers this is not a great challenge, but in terms of scenery it is really worth doing!
