Recently, this road was given a new layer of asphalt.
It was already not an ugly area, but this little road has gained some extra momentum because of it.
The surroundings are reminiscent of Tuscany without cypresses, so in late summer. Very beautiful and very quiet.
The climb itself takes you higher via fairly mild percentages. It is never flat, but any cycling tourist should still get to the top here with relatively little effort.

Het was al geen lelijke omgeving, maar dit weggetje heeft er nog wat extra elan door gekregen.
De omgeving doet denken aan Toscane zonder cipressen, zo in de nazomer. Erg mooi en zeer rustig.
De klim zelf brengt je via vrij milde percentages hogerop. Het is nooit vlak, maar iedere wielertoerist zou hier toch met relatief weinig moeite boven moeten komen.
This climb is on the camino to Santiago de Compostela. Instead of taking the busy (and very dangerous!) Puerto de la Pedraja, the route turns right in Tosantos and you take Port De Valdillas. We did this one in the morning fog and it was wonderful how desolate and deserted this road was. For climbers this is not a great challenge, but in terms of scenery it is really worth doing!
Deze klim ligt op de camino naar Santiago de Compostela. In plaats van de drukke (en levensgevaarlijke!) Puerto de la Pedraja te nemen, slaat de route rechtsaf in Tosantos en neem je deze Port De Valdillas. Wij deden deze in de ochtendmist en het was heerlijk hoe desolaat en verlaten deze weg was. Voor de klimmers is dit niet een grote uitdaging, maar qua landschap is deze echt wel de moeite om te doen!
