I found that this climb actually belongs together with the climb to Monte Amiata given that after the summit there is only a (comparatively) short descent to the foot of that climb. The climb starts at the station of an old railway, which I suspect is no longer used. In terms of landscape, it is sometimes a bit disappointing compared to the Valle D'Orcia nearby, but it is still pleasant cycling. You cycle mostly through forests. However, the reward is the descent to Seggiano (a lovely village!) and then the climb to Monte Amiata, Tuscany's highest point.) It never gets really steep but it is not easy, mainly due to the asphalt, I think.
