I always think that Wardrobes (sorry, Pink Hill, but Wardrobes is the local name) is a tad overrated on difficulty in the local cycling community. Its reputation precedes it, perhaps. But looking at the difficulty rating on Climbfinder and comparing to nearby climbs I think you get the picture. Any climb around 100 points will be one of the more challenging Chiltern climbs. Not as hard as Whiteleaf but harder than something like Rocky Lane. It's a pretty tough climb, and it has two concave ... read more

It's a pretty tough climb, and it has two concave sections - firstly it ramps up towards the turning, then it flattens out a bit but ramps up again towards the top. There's no thinking it will get easier as you get higher - this climb is hard until almost the very top. Perhaps that's why it has the reputation it has. Good views on the approach, pleasant woodlands on the climb, and big area of woodland once you get over the top. Scary in descent towards the junction due to a blind bend. As someone has said, the Whiteleaf - Wardrobes - Cadsden (Longdown) circuit is good, although I prefer missing out Wardrobes on that circuit and going straight down to Great Hampden from the top of Whiteleaf, and then doing one more lap.

Local clubs come up white leaf down kop and then up this one known locally as “wardrobes”. Great for preparing for the “Fred Whitton” or the Alps. You just have to ride the circuit 10 times.

Not very pink, except for the spring blossom at the top. Most of the climb is steady, with the steepest section through the junction. Some nice views on the run up to the bottom of the climb, then it is mostly wooded
