Yesterday, with beautiful weather, I climbed this Rue de La Montagne at the end of a long ride. I came from Rocroy in descent direction Couvin where you can enjoy a great fast descent and admire the real start of the Ardennes along the west side. The ascent of this Montagne is not very difficult with only a few strips going above 8%, the road surface is good and there is little traffic. At the crossing of the (new) highway, you can enjoy a moon landscape for a while and the tarmac is even better. As desert you can enjoy a beautiful view in a wooded area at the reservoir. The descent to Petigny is capricious and ends very quickly on a deteriorating road right in the village, pay attention there.
