I am affectively very attached to Pianaccio del Mortirolo. Reaching it by bike, therefore, was a great satisfaction.
Having passed the demanding hairpin bends through the Mortirolo village and reached the Albergo Passo Mortirolo, turn into the sharp right-hand bend that leads to Pianaccio.
After an initial relaxing stretch that imitates a wonderful larch forest, you come to a left-hand bend and 800 metres beyond the 10%. After crossing the Varadega stream, the climb becomes very pleasant and the view of Cima Grom, Cima Pagano, rewarding!
PLEASE NOTE: the asphalt -in the 6 km that connect the Mortirolo to Pianaccio- is of very poor quality.
