Turn of the main road and you're straight into 10％+ for a few hundred metres, undulating until you pass the row of houses. Then it flattens and rises again in a series of ramps until you reach the final house and then drop down to the roman bridge and past the derelict mill building.
Surface is relatively good; a few bits of loose stuff and lots of leaves during Autumn, but nothing unsafe and it's very quiet, almost no traffic.
