Coming from the top of the Swiss Bernina pass it is 3 km. steep winding downhill in a beautiful high mountain scenery until you turn left on the main road to the foot of the Forcola di Livigno.
Climb starts with manned Swiss customs post followed by a beautiful waterfall right along the road. Beautiful short and to the top steep route with gentle curves between a desolate rock backdrop.
Pass height with Italian customs is state border (CH/I) and narrow passage between the ridges of the Piz Minor (3049m) and Monte Vago (3067m). You will find Livigno's first tax-free shop with a mountain café.

5 stars! Not exactly the longest climb, but it is a beauty! Just like the descent from the Bernina pass to the foot of this climb. Good to combine those two.

50 meters across the Italian border at Rifugio Tridentina you can eat well for a good price (tax free) and they have excellent desserts.

Nice short climb if you from the Bernina Pass back to Livigno rides. If you're based in Livigno, that's an ideal warm-up, start with the longer, less steep side of the Forcola and continue towards the Bernina pass and then back to Livigno via this side. After that I rode up the Passo Eira and Passo Foscagno, and then I had 73km with 1900hm for the first day. The sun was shining and there was still some snow on the slopes.
