This cross-border climb is a nice warm-up for the more difficult climbs in the region. The climb starts out quite tough for someone who has just ridden 500 kilometres, but it soon levels off to 6 to 7%. Along the way, you will be treated to views up and down the gorge you pass. Just before the halfway mark, there is a small descent which ends exactly at the Slovenian-Italian border. From there, there are some easy kilometres to the top. There is nothing to do on the pass itself, there is an old house in a forest. That's it.
The climb goes over beautiful road and is very quiet. Because it is not so steep, you can include this climb in every tour.

That's it.
