This beautiful short climb (cycled August 2023) is a must on your way to or on your return from Passo Bordala.
You start, like the climbing routes to Passo Bordala /Monte Velo - St.Barbara), in Loppio at the roundabout where you meander uphill for several kilometres via wide road with fine asphalt past vineyards, fields and meadows located on
the valley flank. In the first village of Valle St.Felice, at the level of the church tower, you leave the main road for a narrow 1-lane road that climbs irregularly up between the rock walls that pierce the green forest.
Village of Manzano is spectacularly cycled around along a balcony route, which starts via short tunnel through the rock face, with stunning views. In contrast, in the next village of Monesino, the route goes straight through the narrow streets of the village centre. Last pure nature section is uninhabited and steeper.
End point is somewhat problematic as there is no indication sign. I came across a wooden Monte Faé sign but the climb continued briskly. Finally, at the desolate summit, there is a cross hidden among the trees along the right side before the road dives downwards according to the triangular road sign 18%.

Practical: There is no traffic,no catering, little shade and sporadic bad road surface after leaving the main road.
Start in Loppio can be reached from Torbole -Nago via car-free signposted cycling route next to the overcrowded SS240 (Lake Garda towards Brennerautostrade).

Hidden gem well worth the turn-off!!!
