A slightly long but not difficult climb (if it is for me, it is for almost everyone), generally good asphalt, beautiful views, almost no traffic.

Super popular climb in Piacenza. This is a great, panoramic road that brings you from Travo in Val Trebbia to the pass. The climb is fairly regular and you can get into your pace easily. Along the road you will find many scenic spots: Torre di Bibbiano, Pietra Perduca and in front of you the bigger Pietra Parcellara. Once you pass Pietra you will have a magnificent view on both sides, before a last steeper bit that will bring you to the Passo Caldarola.

From the pass you can descend back to Travo (with new asphalt as of summer 2024), turn left and descend to Mezzano Scotti back in Val Trebbia, or turn right to go into Val Tidone. All options are great!
