The surroundings are beautiful ( if you think away the residential area) but the climb is not very difficult by Dutch standards. Just a bit on the long side.
De omgeving is mooi ( als je de woonwijk even wegdenkt) maar de klim is voor Nederlandse begrippen niet heel erg lastig.
A separate bike path with a central reservation, where do you find that? Here it is. This climb is a nasty piece of false flat along a busy road. Because the bike path is far away from the road, it does not bother you much. There is a lot of green, but with Burgers Zoo on one side and a boring housing estate on the other, there is not much to see. In combination with the Mentenberg, this is the best route from Arnhem centre to the beautiful cycle paths and climbs on the Veluwezoom.
Een vrij liggend fietspad mét een middenberm, waar vind je dat? Hier dus. Deze beklimming is vooral een nijdig stuk vals plat langs een drukke weg. Omdat het fietspad vrij ver van de weg af ligt heb je er weinig last van. Er is veel groen, maar met Burgers Zoo aan de ene kant en een saaie woonwijk aan de andere kant is er niet heel veel bijzonders te zien. In combinatie met de Mentenberg is dit wel de mooiste route van Arnhem centrum naar de prachtige fietspaden en beklimmingen op de Veluwezoom.
