A tough ride which requires riders to bring their climbing gears with them and plenty of stamina. The climb begins in a very ordinary way but after approximately 400 metres the gradient begins to increase fairly rapidly. At the halfway point the gradient rises harshly and this gradient is sustained all the way to the summit. A single track road which is in very poor condition. There are no views as the road is fully enclosed by thick trees on either side. A few passing points exist throughout the climb and there are also a couple of entrances to farms and houses which may help with oncoming/upcoming traffic.
This climb is worth it’s No.2 ranking in East of England. Big kudos to all riders who conquer it - you will have earned it as you catch your breath at the peak!
