A steep climb, but with beautiful views and little traffic. The road is in very good condition.
Montée raide mais avec des belles vues et peu de circulation. La route est en très bon état.
Starting point of this climb can be reached car-free via the cycle path along the Passierio and Adige river from Merano.
A few hairpin bends on this cycle path take you up the flank above the river, to the Alte Landstrasse / Strada Vecchia where the turn-off is signposted.
The first kilometre to Oberplars / Plars di Sopra first winds through the village centre, then through the grape and apple orchards typical of the region.
Then a series of hairpin bends through pine forest to
Vellau / Vello where the valley station of tourist cable car takes hikers, standing in trays, to the Texel high mountains .
The route then narrows to a single carriageway with poor road surface but no traffic and a new series of bends follows through an uninhabited world in which you cycle under the cable lift several times and are regularly treated to panoramic views.
The road ends in the yard of Gasthaus Oberplatzerhof.

Enkele haarspeldbochten op dit fietspad brengen je naar omhoog op de flank boven de rivier, tot op de Alte Landstrasse / Strada Vecchia alwaar de afslag staat aangegeven.

Vervolgens een reeks haarspeldbochten door naaldwoud tot
Vellau / Vello waar het dalstation van toeristische kabellift wandelaars, staande in bakjes, naar het Texel hooggebergte brengt .
Route versmalt dan tot 1 rijbaan met slecht wegdek doch zonder verkeer en een nieuwe reeks bochten volgt door onbewoonde wereld waarin je nog enkele keren onderdoor de kabellift fietst en regelmatig word getrakteerd op panoramische uitzichten.
De weg eindigt op het erf van Gasthaus Oberplatzerhof.
Je kan er eten en drinken.
