Just before the Austrian-Italian border of the Brenner Pass, this is the last tributary valley on Austrian territory.
After turning off the busy Brenner national highway you first pass the high imposing viaduct of the Brenner motorway on a wide road. The climbing route follows the narrow mountain stream upstream on a fairly straight road with gentle bends, except for a good kilometre at 8 % after the village of Vinaders.
The tarmac road narrows and comes to a dead end at the tourist parking/camping of Gasthof Waldesruh (supply) in the last hamlet Gereit.
Good warming-up climb with hardly any traffic and beautiful views on both sides!
Watch out for the sometimes strong winds in the valley which can make it difficult.
