Klimtechnisch natuurlijk niet spectaculair maar wel een heel "groene" manier om vanaf het centrum van Aachen naar de zuidelijke ringweg te komen waarbij je ook nog wat hoogtemeters meepakt. De klim begint bij een tunneltje onder het spoor en loopt eerst over een zgn. "Fietsstraat". Verderop kom je nog langs een parkje, een paardenweitje en de groen aangelegde parkeerplaats van de dierentuin. Verder vrijwel geen huizen aan de route.
