Het eerste gedeelte bestaat uit de slechte kasseien van de Mariaborrestraat. Gelukkig rij je niet verder richting Steenbeekdries of Stationsberg, maar sla je rechts af het asfalt op. Daarna nog twee trapjes wat steiler en daartussen een stukje afdaling. Wegdek is niet super, maar veel beter dan de kasseien. Zeer rustig fietsen, tussen de gewassen.
