This climb follows a nice route via a car-free road, first along the meandering Haarbach and then climbing a little harder into the agricultural area with nice views over the valley to your left. In between there is a steeper stretch where you end up next to a sort of dam. The asphalt is good, although the road can be dirty.
NB: Vanwege de vervanging van de Talbrücke (duurt tot eind 2025) bij Haaren was het eerste deel (vrijwel) niet toegankelijk maar er zijn meerdere aanrijdmogelijkheden.
Deze klim volgt een mooi traject via een autovrij weggetje, eerst langs de slingerende Haarbach en daarna iets harder stijgend het agrarische gebied in met mooi uitzicht over het dal links van je. Tussendoor is er even een steiler stukje waarbij je naast een soort stuwdam uitkomt. Het asfalt is redelijk, wel kan de weg vies zijn.
