This climb offers a good opportunity to cycle out of the Saar valley up to the Hunsrück. There is a somewhat more difficult climb at the start in the beautiful winegrowing village of Serrig and then again about halfway up. You should definitely plan a short stop at the beautiful viewpoint to look out over the small Saar loop. A diversion is worthwhile, generally a doable ascent.
