Nice little steep climb through a quiet street. You have to start from a standstill because of the big road that has to be crossed. Road surface in the first part not too good either!
Tof klein en steil klimmetje door een rustige straat. Wel vanuit stilstand te beginnen door de grote weg die overgestoken moet worden. Wegdek in het eerste stuk ook niet al te goed!
Very nice climb, with percentages that are unseen elsewhere in the Waasland region. It is a pity that you first get off a busy road but on the climb itself you hardly encounter any traffic.
Heel toffe klim, met percentages die elders ongezien zijn in het Waasland. Spijtig dat je eerst van een drukke baan afkomt maar op de klim zelf kom je amper verkeer tegen
If you are around here you should definitely do this in combination with the Sint-Jozefstraat/roomakkerstraat (coming from the dike). Very unfortunate that this is interrupted by a busy lane where 9 out of 10 you must first stop to cross.
Als je hier in de buurt bent moet je deze zeker doen in combinatie met de sint-jozefstraat/roomakkerwegel (komende van de dijk). Erg jammer dat deze wordt onderbroken door een drukke baan waar je 9 op 10 eerst moet stoppen om over te steken.
With my best friend from Hulst I went for a ride through the Waasland region. First I climbed the Oudeheerweg-Ruiter and Burggravestraat and then the Wall of Tielrode. Normally I ride on the flat land of the Haarlemmermeer polder in the Netherlands. It did not disappoint me! Definitely worth the effort. Nice views of the hills. Definitely worth repeating.
Met mijn beste vriend vanuit Hulst een rondje door het Waasland gereden. Eerst de Oudeheerweg-Ruiter en Burggravestraat beklommen daarna tegen de Muur van Tielrode op. Normaal rijd ik op het vlakke land van de Haarlemmermeerpolder in Nederland. Het viel mij niet tegen! Zeker de moeite waard. Mooie uitzichten op de heuvels. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.
The busy road makes it difficult to take a 'run-up' to this climb. That the first few meters are one-way street, makes the turn to climb a little faster not too dangerous. The steepness is unsurpassed in the region and that is the main reason to come here. Short enough to go all the way up. The asphalt is reasonably good and the traffic is not too bad.
De drukke weg maakt het moeilijk om een 'aanloop' te nemen aan deze klim. Dat de eerste meters eenrichtingsstraat zijn, maakt de bocht naar de klim iets sneller nemen niet te gevaarlijk. De steiltegraad is onovertroffen in de regio en dat is meteen de voornaamste reden om hier langs te komen. Kort genoeg om vol tot boven te gaan. Het asfalt is redelijk goed en qua verkeer valt het ook goed mee.

Gezien het feit dat de Burgemeester Achiel Heymanstraat een drukke weg is om over te steken, hebben we er bewust voor gekozen de klim pas daarna te laten starten. Helaas, vallen daardoor de eerste paar hoogtemeters weg.
