Alternative ascent to that via Fonte Cerreto to Campo Imperatore; the road has very little traffic, in some places the gradients are considerable. Up to Filetto the road is two lanes, then it becomes one lane until the junction with the main road to the Gran Sasso. Towards the end of the climb is the small lake of Paganica.
