The climb starts in the municipality of Sesto Fiorentino, more precisely in the hamlet of Colonnata
It begins gradually with gentle slopes up to the locality of Ulivo rosso, here the real ascent begins!
A first climb of about 600 metres with gradients of over 14% accompanies us to the first hairpin bend after which the gradients descend, on average 6/7% with peaks at 10% up to the first col
At Morello, where there is a restaurant bar with excellent cuisine, the road flattens out for a few metres and then steepens to gradients of over 20%
Fortunately, the stretch is short, about 600 metres, then the climb continues for about 4 km with decidedly bearable gradients up to Piazzale Leonardo Da Vinci, the highest point of the climb and from where you can admire a beautiful panorama over the plain of Florence
