Cycled this shortest climbing side of the Mariolberg when descending back down the Ultendal .
In the village centre of Sankt Walburg/Santa Valburga you then leave the busy main road on the left to immediately climb firmly on narrow fine tarmac road up the valley flank between the last village houses and farms. Afterwards, the climb flattens out to follow the valley you came from one level higher with beautiful views.
The final kilometres up to the highest point, which suddenly appears among lonely farms, are then briefly uphill again.
There follows a steep descent through the uninhabited forest with several hairpin bends, after which the striking church tower of San Pancrazio/Sankt Pankraz looms into view before you join the main valley road again.

Extra altimeters without traffic, which also allows you to avoid the tunnel section on the long middle section of the Ultendal climb.
