The ascent of Mont Royal starts with steep hairpin turns in the village. This is followed by a good running section with nice viewpoints. The last kilometre is quite tough with sections above 10% and even 17% at the end.

A tough climb from the Moselle to the saddle between Kövenig and Kröv. Right at the start, it is already hard work and it stays that way until the end. With two tight hairpin bends (of which the second one is really steep on the inside), you ride up through the village. Then follows a slightly winding road up the slope with sometimes beautiful views. After the left turn you can almost see the end of the road, but it keeps on stomping until just before the end. Good tarmac further on.

Prima asfalt verder.
